“THE DREAM” è il titolo del primo CD degli Efem System, duo formato da Fabrizio Fraioli “Fraio” e da Mirko Di Michele “Number”, pubblicato nell’Aprile 2011.

Il titolo “The Dream”, il sogno, fa riferimento all’estate del 2009 quando Number acquista il suo primo “Mac” su cui installa Logic, software per realizzare e registrare musica.  Inizia a provare ad usare il software, collega chitarra e microfono e il giorno stesso incide una prima bozza di “FromThe Sky”, brano ora contenuto nel CD. Number chiama Fraio e gli fa ascoltare il brano … la risposta è stata “è un sogno!”. Il commento non era proprio rivolto alla canzone in se stessa, ma era rivolto al sistema (da cui System) che da quel giorno in poi Number e Fraio avrebbero utilizzato per realizzare una raccolta di brani inediti, come da molto tempo volevano fare. In sostanza avevano in mano un loro piccolo studio di registrazione, si trattava solo di iniziare a tirare fuori le idee e rimettere le mani sugli strumenti. Fraio ha iniziato ad esplorare il software per poterlo usare al meglio, ha collegato la sua tastiera, il basso, la chitarra ed ha creato le musiche dei brani, Number ha ascoltato le musiche ed ha iniziato a scrivere i testi, a cantarli e a suonarci sopra la chitarra. Il sogno si stava avverando, Number e Fraio, pian piano, stavano preparando il loro primo CD.

The Dream si compone di 12 brani di cui 10 inediti e 2 cover rivisitate e adattate al genere elettronico dell’opera. I brani sono stati tutti interamente scritti, suonati e cantati da Number e Fraio e in 2 brani si sono avvalsi della collaborazione di Roberto Guglielmi che ha suonato la chitarra in “The Dream (of Efem System)” e di Ilaria Gazzano che ha cantato “My Head Is Like A Butterfly”.

“THE DREAM” is the title of the first CD released in April 2011 from Efem System – two Italian musicians Fabrizio Fraioli, “Fraio”, and Mirko Di Michele, “Number.”

The title “The Dream” makes reference to the summer of 2009 when Number got his first “Mac” in which he installed the software “Logic” to create and record music. He had a go at it, he connected his guitar and microphone and in the same day recorded the first draft of “From The Sky”, now included on the CD. Number called Fraio and had him listen to it … he said “It’s a dream.” He didn’t mean the song itself but rather this new way that they could record thus allowing them to create a bunch of songs that they had wanted to do.  Practically, they had a little recording studio in their hands. They just had to get started, get the ideas out and put their hands on the instruments. Fraio explored the software to try to use it better, he plugged in the keyboard, the bass, the guitar and started creating the music for their songs. Number listened and began writing lyrics singing and playing his guitar. Their dream was materializing, Number and Fraio were slowly preparing their first CD. 

“The Dream” is composed of 12 songs – 10 originals and 2 “covers” – revisited and adapted to the electric genre of the CD. All the originals were written by Number and Fraio and all of the songs are sung and played by them. Two songs are enriched by the collaboration with Roberto Guglielmi that plays the guitar in “The Dream (of Efem System)” and by Ilaria Gazzano that sings “My Head is Like a Butterfly”.
